govTogetherBC: British Columbia has a new user friendly site
GovTogetherBC is the hub for government engagement opportunities that require your participation – to listen, get informed and speak up. It supports the government in its objective to become more transparent and accessible. Our goal is to let you know what’s being talked about in the province and plug you into ways you can get involved. Whether the government is consulting citizens about taxes, employment standards or healthcare; our job is to make sure that you’re connected.
Find the topics that matter most to you or get involved and tell us what you think should be discussed next.
GovTogetherBC (http://www.gov.bc.ca/govtogetherbc) is a user-friendly site that was developed as part of the B.C. government’s ongoing commitment to make government more open and transparent.
By making government’s current public consultations and dialogues searchable by keyword, topic, location and type of engagement tools, users will be able to quickly find what they’re looking for. Other key features include a map that shows the location of engagements throughout the province and options to receive updates on new projects by email subscription or RSS feeds. Content on the& GovTogetherBC site will also be available on www.data.gov.bc.ca as open data.
GovTogetherBC also features results from past engagement projects. Using the search function, people can find out how previous consultations were performed, how many submissions we received, and link to the full results.
For those who are interested in getting more involved in their community, GovTogetherBC makes it easier to find volunteer and leadership opportunities. Users can filter the opportunities based on the areas they’re interested in, for example mentoring, safety and the environment.
